There are also fruit trees in the garden where apples, plums and cherries are grown. On top of this, many children from the pre-school attend healthy eating workshops with parents and carers at the Limelight Family Learning Centre, which is housed in the same building.
What happens in the workshops? Parents and carers get the opportunity to learn how to prepare and cook a different meal each week, while also learning more about the content of foods, such as the levels of fats and sugars, and alternatives to allergens. Meanwhile, the children help out with the cooking and get a chance to touch, smell and taste new foods.
