The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published estimates on healthy life expectancy and disability-free life expectancy at birth for wards in England and Wales. The reports are published as experimental statistics, which are presently undergoing evaluation with a view to being approved as official figures at a later date.
The consultation seeks views on how the figures are compiled with the aim of ensuring they are as accurate as possible. Comments on the methodology, quality and usefulness of the estimates are sought.
While the ONS regularly publishes such estimates for the UK and its constituent countries, this is the first time it has published this data at ward level.
