Letter - Funds for projects that work

I strongly agree that budget cuts will indeed hit the Government reforms for Every Child Matters (Children Now, 18-24 January). We are a charity and rely on funding to run programmes. Our New Opportunities funding has ended and we have been unable to secure long-term sustainability funding, so we may not be able to run our holiday projects.

There is no other provision in the local area that compares in theperforming arts. We have a long and outstanding record of good provisionand work paedogogically with many young people from diversebackgrounds.

In the light of the Prime Minister's "yob" and "let's get parents backto work" statements it does seem incredibly stupid that new initiativesthat have proved their value, worth and need are unable to continue. Putyour money where your mouth is Mr Blair.
