Digital Data Demons, Crazy Crafts and Reptilian Boards are among the clubs developed by young people as part of the Creative Leadership Programme, run by children's charity Kids Company.
The scheme gets 10- and 11- year-old-pupils to invent and supervise lunchtime clubs for their younger peers. It aims to build pupils' self-esteem and develop emotional literacy.
The project has been successfully piloted in Hackney, but Kids Company plans to expand the six-month programme to every school it works with.
Viv Walkey, team leader of the programme, said the scheme is brilliant for building children's confidence: "The programme is fun but it does provide the children with challenges. For example, if a Year Two pupil tries to run away or behaves badly."
