
As part of its drive to respond to the growing problem of child sexual exploitation (CSE), the government announced earlier this month that four projects will receive almost £4m to develop new ways of protecting children at risk of, or who have experienced, CSE.
The money, allocated through the Department for Education's £100m children's social care innovation fund, will help protect some of the most vulnerable children.

South Yorkshire councils - specialist foster carers (£1.2m)
Recruiting specialist foster carers with experience of looking after abuse victims will form the crux of an initiative involving four Yorkshire local authorities - Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.
