The following have been appointed to the board of the Independent Safeguarding Authority: Valerie Brasse, an adviser to the Catholic Church's Cumberlege Commission on safeguarding; former social worker Richard Black; Donald Findlater, director of research at the Lucy Faithfull Foundation; commissioners for the Independent Police Commission Tom Davies and Mehmuda Mian Pritchard; Don Grubin, a fellow at the Royal College of Psychiatrists; Debbie Ariyo, founder of Africans Unite Against Child Abuse; Moira Murray, safeguarding co-ordinator at The Children's Society; and Peter Withers, a Tayside Health Board member.
