Haringey Council has faced intense media scrutiny ever since the tragic case of Baby P came to light - not all of it fair.

"Baby P: Haringey Council boasts it will become 'destination' of choice" was the headline in The Daily Telegraph. "The local authority condemned over the deaths of Victoria Climbie and Baby P claims it is on its way to becoming the 'destination of choice' for those who work with children," said the paper.

The Telegraph was reporting on an action plan published by the council in response to its joint area review. The paper quoted from the document, which stated: "By December 2012, Haringey will be the place demonstrating best practice to whom others will come. By December 2011, Haringey will be the destination of choice for those who want to work with children in any setting."
