In the News - An alternative take on the week's media

2 mins read
Here's some good news for the children's workforce - hanging around with children and young people helps you stay young. So said 40-year-old mum-of-two Karen Hamilton, who hit the headlines after being refused alcohol for looking underage.

She passed on some of her secrets of youth to The Daily Mirror, including "surround yourself with young people". "I started a teacher training course at Winchester University in September and I'm delighted I made the leap," she said. "Being at university again makes me feel young. I'm mixing with people half my age and far from making me stand out in the crowd, being around them is making me feel and look younger."

If only it were possible to bottle "eau de young people" and sell it. We'd all be rich.

"Raise sponge. Dip sponge in paint, scratch head with hand holding sponge. Press sponge down, half on paper, half on floor. Repeat. Apply glitter. Sit down on painting. Pause. Stare at wall. Stand up. Sit down on something else, thus transferring painting using bottom as stencil." Sound familiar?
