Hull teens react to rise of far right

Hull Young People's Parliament passed a special motion last month condemning racism and fascism after far-right groups won seats at the recent European elections.

Young people from the youth Parliament were so upset by the electionresults that they abandoned their tabled debate on environmental issuesto discuss the rise of fascism in communities.

Suraya Begum, from The Warren Young People's Project, said: "I watchedthe D-Day Veterans on TV as they remembered going to Europe to defeatthe Nazis, 65 years later we've elected fascists to go to Europe. It'scrazy. We've all got to oppose racism."
