The Parents Guide to Money has been produced by the Financial Services Authority and will be handed out to expectant mothers across England.
It gives information on dealing with the financial impact of having a baby, such as budgeting and benefits.
The guide was drawn up after consultations with parents and is being given out during the second trimester of pregnancy.
Parents in England will receive it from the summer, followed by Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It has been trialled successfully in Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East and East Midlands.
