This should make it easier for young people to understand how easy it is to catch a STI and how it can be cured and prevented.
Most young people get STIs because they don't understand what they are or how they can be contracted, or even how to treat the STIs, if they are treatable that is.
In our school we only had our sexual education in year 9. We were educated about sex by the head of our religious education department and our school nurse. They said the solution was to wear a condom, but they didn't go into enough detail.
The funding should support more professionals to come into schools and to other groups to talk to young people about STIs.
