Funding briefs: National charities can apply for funding

National charities can apply for a share of 13m from the Young People's Fund National Grants Programme after a second funding round opened on Monday. The fund is particularly keen to hear from projects working with young carers or young people in institutions. It is staging pre-application seminars in London and Birmingham. www.biglotteryfund.org.uk.

Charities and other non-profit making organisations have until 10October to express interest in bidding for a share of 45m to fundfree, face-to-face debt advice for struggling families. The cash is partof the Financial Inclusion Fund and covers 2006 to 2008. www.dti.gov.uk.
