Funding brief: Schools in Wales to earn status

More schools in Wales will be able to earn eco-school status after the Welsh Assembly announced a further 300,000 in funding for Keep Wales Tidy's programme to encourage nursery and school pupils to learn about the environment. Almost 870 schools across Wales have eco-school status and Welsh environment minister Carwyn Jones said the aim was to have 1,500 schools in the programme by 2008.
