Earlier this month, young people from across the country made their way to Crewe for a unique two-day event for children growing up in the care system.
Organised by A National Voice and supported by the British Association for Adoption & Fostering, Amplify 2008 brought together looked-after children aged between 14 and 17.
The aim was to get a real insight into what it's like to grow up in the care system. The last such event, held in 2002, was instrumental in making a difference to the lives of children in care by helping to inform the Every Child Matters green paper. So CYP Now went to Amplify and sat down with young people to find out what they really feel about growing up in today's care system.
