Ethnic Minorities: Community groups reduce exclusions

Launched this week, School exclusion and transition into adulthood in African-Caribbean communities found that BME young people are four times more likely to be excluded than White pupils.

The support the young people got from community-based voluntary groups, including youth work projects, enabled them to turn their lives around by helping them and their families with appeals, career advice and self-esteem.
