Commentary

Although the Conservatives say they intend to reduce child poverty, they provide no new policy commitments in order to achieve this - maintaining their position that "work is the best route out of poverty".

By contrast, both Labour and the Liberal Democrats say they will scrap the controversial "bedroom tax".

Labour says it will publish a new child poverty strategy and the Liberal Democrats say they intend to take 13,000 children out of poverty through changes to Universal Credit.
