Hillingdon Council is set to begin truancy sweeps at the airport, which falls within its boundaries, in September.
A spokeswoman for the council said it would not impose on-the-spot fines.
But penalty notices may be sent by post if checks made with the child's school confirm that the absence was unauthorised. This would apply to Hillingdon residents.
If a child lived outside the borough their name and address would be forwarded to their local education authority for appropriate action.
