The Local Government Ombudsman found that no action was taken to addressthe boy's absences between November 2001 and March 2003. The educationprovided to him after this period was judged to be insufficient foranother year. The situation only improved in May 2004 when some supportwas forthcoming from the NHS.
The report concludes that the boy "suffered a significant injustice" andfinds maladministration causing injustice.
