0.68% of half days missed due to unauthorised absence in 2004/05 (0.78 per cent in England)

- 4.3% of primary pupils did not have English as their first language inJanuary 2005 (11.7 per cent in England)

- 7% of nursery and primary school pupils taking free school meals inJanuary 2005 (13.4 per cent in England)

- 0.01% of the school population excluded permanently in 2004/05 (0.12per cent in England)

Cambridgeshire County Council has been praised by inspectors for its"very low" exclusion rates. The council's last annual performanceassessment says the achievement is thanks to the council's "managedmove" policy, which ensures pupils move without requiring out-of-schoolprovision and reintegration.
