The rebrand, which will launch in February 2007, will be part of a larger rethink on how to reach young people and will include a new name and logo for the organisation.
Emma Healey, head of individual support at the association, said varying attitudes of GPs to young people at risk of developing an eating disorder led to a "postcode lottery" of support. "Over the next two or three years we will work to ensure there is earlier intervention by GPs," she said.
"Often GPs tell young people with eating disorders it's 'just a phase'. We have heard horror stories about inappropriate treatment."
