This happy drummer was one of 300 children from schools across Southwark who took part in an environmental awareness day on Friday 6 July. The young people met in Southwark Park to learn about water conservation, energy and biodiversity. They also had the chance to try out an energy bike that demonstrated how much energy is needed to power a laptop or light bulb. Other activities at the event included willow sculpting, drumming workshops and an environmental Oscars ceremony that honoured Southwark's greenest pupils. Students were able to find out about the science behind climate change and given tips for making their schools and homes more environmentally friendly.
