Advocates from the society's Disability Advocacy Project work with young people to help them resolve problems relating to their care. The society has also issued a report, I Can Tell You What I Want.
It will use the findings to persuade local authorities to increase their investment in advocacy services. Helen, 19, part of the Disability Advocacy Project, said: "My advocate deals with lots of people for me. If I have a problem I can talk it through with her."
