
The government has published a guide to help parents and carers identify if their child is involved in street gangs and how they should respond. It says the behaviour of a small number of young people who are involved in gang activity can have a significant impact on communities and families.
The National Appropriate Adult Network (NAAN) has published revised national standards for appropriate adult schemes. New elements include employee and volunteer checks; maximum response times; monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance systems; personal training records and links with liaison and diversion services. The standards have been approved by the Home Office and Department of Health, and form part of strategic standard 14 in the National Standards for Youth Justice Services.
