Services for vulnerable children delivered by Hampshire County Council are "good" overall, Ofsted has found. Inspectors concluded that overall services for children in need of help and protection, children in care and care leavers are good, while the adoption service is outstanding, as is leadership and governance across all children’s services. An inspection of the Hampshire Safeguarding Children Board was undertaken at the same time, which was also given a "good" rating, the Daily Echo reports.
Solihull Council has appointed Nick Page as its new chief executive. Page joins the borough from his current position as strategic director of children’s services and interim head of paid services at Salford City Council. He will take up the post on July 1 and replaces Mark Rogers who left Solihull to become chief executive of Birmingham City Council, reports the Birmingham Post.
