Connexions: Web cam advice to launch in London

1 min read

The service will enable young people throughout the borough to have virtual face-to-face meetings with advisers.

It has been developed by the local authority, in partnership with Central London Connexions, to help young people who are unable to travel to the Connexions centre to get advice.

The meetings, which can be arranged by email, will enable advisers and clients to browse the internet together, use a white board to draw diagrams and ideas and exchange documents such as CVs. The programme also allows text communication for young people with hearing difficulties.

Connexions service manager Michael Whitmore said: "There may be various reasons why young people feel more comfortable accessing our services from places they already use, such as specialist youth clubs. We want to ensure that we're reaching as many young people as possible."
