The Association for Young People's Health brings together professionals and organisations working with young people in different health services.
Health minister Dawn Primarolo will launch the association at its inaugural conference Young People's Health - Taking Action in London.
Professor John Coleman, senior research fellow at Oxford University and former director of the Trust for the Study of Adolescence, will chair the group. He said: "There are high rates of teenage pregnancy and alcohol and substance abuse. Obesity and sexually transmitted infections are also a problem. Much is being done to combat these issues but progress could be better if we all worked together."
