From what age can a young person babysit?
There is no minimum legal age a person has to be before they can babysit. However, guidance issued from the NSPCC suggests that parents should choose a babysitter who is over the age of 16. A child under 16 cannot be prosecuted for neglect or ill treatment of children in their care; therefore, parents could be prosecuted if their child is harmed while a babysitter under the age of 16 is supervising.
