Children's Commissioner: Focus should be on children's curfews

England's children's commissioner should focus attention on the issue of curfews for children, young people in an online debate have suggested.

The commissioner should also ask children what they think their schools could improve, and should look at how clubs for young people can be made affordable.

The students from 10 schools around England, who participated in the debate last month organised by the HeadsUp project, said the commissioner should "not give up on a debate".

But they were split on the ideal age of the commissioner, who should be appointed next year. Some said he or she should be young while others favoured someone in their 40s or 50s with more life experience.
