Group 4 Securicor, the contractor at the three centres, has put in newchild protection policies since inspections in 2004 and 2005. But,despite the new policies, staff at Gatwick North, Gatwick South and theDover centre want more training.
The inspection, by Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons, recommendedthat staff should have Criminal Records Bureau checks. The inspectionwas carried out through spot-checks between July and August 2006.
A Home Office spokesman said: "We welcome (the inspectorate's)acknowledgment that improvements have been made."
