CHILD POVERTY: Caretaker director for poverty group

The Child Poverty Action Group has appointed Jenny Talbot, the former chief executive of the Institute for Citizenship, as its interim director.

Talbot starts today (7 January) and replaces Martin Barnes, who takes over as chief executive of DrugScope later this month. The organisation will start its search for a permanent replacement for Barnes this month.

He thought there would be "no shortage" of applicants. The group will look at the job description for the director's role because it has changed over Barnes' five years in the job.
