Cheshire West and Chester Council is to introduce a software system that will allow its children and adult social work teams to share data better.
The Protocol Integrated Children's System and Integrated Adults System will provide social workers with a more complete picture of the care requirements of a child or adult. It will also help identify instances where children are living in households where there are known problems, such as domestic violence.
The council hopes the system will cut repetitive data entry and save social workers time.
Councillor Brenda Dowding (pictured left), executive member, adult social care, said: "The new system will enable care staff in both services to spend more time with vulnerable adults and children. It will enable us to implement the recommendations of Professor Munro's report and the principles of personalisation for adults."
