The pupils have learnt how to cook, manage their finances and look after a baby at a specially built bungalow in the grounds of Marshfields School.
The bungalow was funded by RNID, the national charity for deaf and hard of hearing people. The aim is to help young people learn independent living skills.
Jane Payne, 16, a deaf student at the school, said: "I really enjoyed my experience in the bungalow as it's given me lots of new skills and confidence to do things for myself. I feel I'm now prepared for one day living on my own. Having the loop system, (which amplifies the spoken word for hearing aid users) and the telephone with the visual alarm was great. It meant I was the same as everyone else."
