The months leading up to Bridge College's latest visit from Ofsted have, in the inspectorate's own words, been "a period of turbulence".
First there was the move. After 20 years in the Stockport suburb of Offerton, the college, which caters for students with learning difficulties, disabilities and autistic-spectrum conditions, moved to a new home in central Manchester. This proved a catalyst for further changes.
"It wasn't feasible for all the staff to move because of the travel so the college lost a lot of its skilled workforce, particularly on the support side and there's such an emphasis on support within the college that this had a major impact," says principal Lisa Duncalf.
