There continues to be strong agreement about the quality of The Children's Plan, but inevitably there are devils in details.
We focus on preparation for the youth crime plan and the forthcoming child health strategy. Some of the child health links seem to me to be especially variable locally. Privately, I'm beginning to wonder if the strategy will need to get radical.
Tuesday: It's 1 April - and some fool tells me I'm no longer a joint president of Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS). Ha!
Spend much of the day in an induction session for our local Connexions staff, who have now transferred to the local authority. It's been a challenging journey with much still to be done to resolve internal structures. But contrary to some media reports, the transfer has gone well and the induction session is positive. Feels like these people are coming home.
