Young people with nothing to declare may not sound like a particularly good youth work outcome. But last weekend it was one I was more than happy with.

I suppose I should explain. I've just got back from taking a group of young people on a three-day visit to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague in the Netherlands. As we went through airport security at Stansted, one member of our group was pulled over for a bag search.

Now this was quite a high-risk trip. And as you can imagine I had spent a considerable amount of time thinking about what young people might bring back from Amsterdam and how I might deal with any "difficult situations" at customs.
