Awards: Rightful recognition

3 mins read
Young People Now and our sister title Children Now have finalised the short-listed entries in the first-ever Children and Young People's Services Awards.

Much work in the youth services sector goes unrecognised. The professionals and volunteers who dedicate their careers to improving the life chances of young people don't do it for monetary reward: they do it to make a difference.

That's why Young People Now teamed up with our sister title, Children Now, to launch the first-ever Children and Young People's Services Awards.

The awards celebrate the unsung heroes of the sector. They acknowledge achievement in categories that reflect the five Every Child Matters outcomes, from growing up healthy to staying safe.

At the heart of the ceremony will be recognition of the role youth services play in young people's lives and the community. Prizes will recognise projects in youth work as well as advice and guidance, preventive work and youth justice.

We look forward to seeing you at the awards gala dinner at The Hurlingham Club in Fulham, west London, on the evening of 28 November.
