Grants ranging from 700 to 36,000 have gone to 28 projects in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Sheffield Independent Film and Television (SHIFT), the recipient of the largest grant, will create Risking It, six films exploring gang life.
SHIFT will work with 66 under-18s on the scheme. Thirteen- to 16-year-olds in Edinburgh will make a 4,600 animation called Stressed Out with inner-city youth charity Fairbridge. Sin Cru's project in Cambridge will create a live action animation film based on a mobile phone conversation.
Catherine O'Shea, director of First Light, said: "I'm especially excited to see so many scripts coming in from young people."
