The second series of a BBC Radio Merseyside soap opera made by young people went live last week. The show, The Grove, is written and produced by young people from Liverpool and is about the trials of modern family life. The young people were mentored by professional actors and writers from shows such as Brookside and Hollyoaks and were trained in performing skills by community arts organisation Positive Impact. The 20-episode series is to be aired at lunchtimes and Saturday evenings on the Black music magazine programme Upfront and The Roger Philips Show.
The Grove has been part-funded with 4,000 from Liverpool City Council's Creative Community grant.
