Deaf and hearing teenagers created drama together when they took part in Signs Alive 3.5, at the Bilberry Hill Centre, Rednal, Birmingham. The drama week, organised by Quaker organisation the Leaveners, attracted 18 deaf and hearing teenagers from across the UK, who took part in dance choreography, drama workshops and signed singing. They produced a final performance for their friends and families. Funding came from The National Deaf Children's Society. Lisa Warner, the society's events manager, said: "Deafness makes it harder for children to communicate, which can be very isolating."
