The IRM is run by the British Association for Adoption & Fostering andreviews cases when an agency has decided not to recommend people assuitable to adopt. It allows potential adopters to have their casereviewed by an independent panel.
Feedback from users of the service said there was satisfaction with IRMstaff and that they were efficient and helpful.
However, some people who used the service said they did not think reviewpanels should know why they had been turned down before the hearing.
