ACCREDITATION: Grant helps Bristol workers hit targets

1 min read

Voluntary organisation Young Bristol is to help workers meet standards within the Government's Transforming Youth Work document, which stipulates that 60 per cent of young people involved in local youth work must receive some form of accreditation.

The funding has been awarded by Bristol City Council and local business guild The Society for Merchant Venturers.

Called Steppin' On Up, the initiative will provide advice and arrange training for youth workers wanting to accredit their programmes or young people in their centre.

By helping to set up award groups that can be used on an ongoing basis, the initiative will enable young people to gain certificates and informal awards for their participation and involvement in programmes.
