Young people explore democracy through art in London

1 min read Youth Work
A festival in London over weekend explored whether young people feel involved in UK democracy.

In partnership with UK Youth Parliament, the Roundhouse theatre in London hosted a series of events for young people, under the banner Do You Feel Counted?

The festival included music, poetry and drama events, but centred on the theme of electoral reform. A panel debate on Saturday focused on the issue of how involved young people are in the electoral process.

UK Youth Parliament ran a "creative" open space at the centre of the festival, using the opportunity to engage with young people and show them a variety of ways in which they can get involved politically, from campaigning and lobbying to registering to vote.
