Young people and their parents are more positive about growing up in England than the rest of the population, according to new research.

The government’s Customer Perception Tracking Survey found the majority of people agree that England is a good country in which to grow up.

However, parents of older children were less positive than parents with younger children.

The research carried out by the Department for Children, Schools and Families found
84 per cent of young people and 75 per cent of parents do not see bullying as a major problem, whereas 80 per cent of the public think it is.

The majority of the population rate secondary schools as good – 88 per cent of young people, 74 per cent of parents and 66 per cent of the public.
