Turning the Corner, a report by the Young Foundation, argues that the criminal justice system should put the same value on innovation as Google and Apple if it wants to develop more effective models to reduce reoffending and build public confidence.
It also calls for the introduction of a UK Centre for Justice Innovation – similar to the New York Center for Court, which has made an impact in preventing reoffending and supporting drug and community programmes.
Although Justice Secretary Ken Clarke made no mention of youth justice when outlining the rehabilitation revolution, many believe it is on the cards for the sector.
