
The Youth Assembly for Wales, which was known as Funky Dragon, closed in 2014 after the Welsh Government withdrew funding - but politicians have backed plans to establish a new version.
Young people will be asked for their views on the youth parliament's name, aim, membership, role and values as part of a consultation that launched today and runs until 30 June.
The consultation document reveals that consultation results will be analysed in the autumn, with elections, and the first meeting of the new youth parliament, earmarked to take place in 2018.
Elin Jones, presiding officer of the National Assembly for Wales, said she wants young people to have their say and shape the new youth parliament.
