UK Youth chief Ndidi Okezie to step down from role

UK Youth’s chief executive Ndidi Okezie will step down from the role later this year, the charity has announced.

Okezie, who has not yet announced her next move, plans continue in her role until December.

Under her leadership of five years, UK Youth has partnered with a range of funders and established a grant distribution fund of more than £20 million of support, accessible to a network of more than 9,000 youth organisation, the charity has said.

Okezie was appointed to the role in October 2019 and has led the charity since January 2020 – months before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the UK.

During this time, income also grew by £10mn annually, enabling vital partnerships that help young people thrive across the country, the charity’s board added.
