The former chief executive of the Youth United Foundation has been appointed to take over at UK Youth on an interim basis.

Lindsay Levkoff Lynn, who ran the Youth United Foundation between October 2014 and April 2017, will join the charity on 25 September and formally take the reins on 20 October.

UK Youth's current chief executive Anna Smee will be taking maternity leave at the end of October to have her second child.

Levkoff Lynn said: "It's a real privilege to be appointed interim chief executive of UK Youth.

"Anna and the team have done a fantastic job, creating a strong vision, innovative new programmes and a clear strategic plan. I'm extremely passionate about building on this foundation to help all young people access equal opportunities regardless of background and circumstance, because all young people deserve a chance to reach their potential."
