1 min read Health
The Conservative Party has pledged to support the Aiming High for Disabled Children agenda, and promised to make improvements in education, short breaks provision, and the benefits system.

Shadow children's secretary Michael Gove met with disabled children, young people and their families at an event arranged by campaign group Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) last week.

Along with Mark Harper, shadow minister for disabled people, Gove discussed the party's future policy proposals.

Harper said: "Hearing directly from young disabled people and families emphasised we still have much further to go to address issues like transition, short breaks and benefit simplification.

"Our determination is to make education and other services work better for young disabled people and their parents."

At the event in Westminster, Miro Griffiths, a young person with disabilities, stressed the importance of the participation of disabled children and young people in shaping services.
