This year marks the 20th time the CYP Now Awards have been held and to mark the occasion children and families minister Janet Daby has confirmed she will be attending the ceremony in November.
There are 24 awards categories to enter including the new Violence Prevention Award to recognise outstanding practice in preventing youth violence.
Last year, there were again more than 500 entries, with StreetDoctors awarded two trophies and charity Become picking up the coveted Children and Young People’s Charity of the Year Award.
This year’s awards will be held on Thursday 20 November at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith.
In addition to the awards ceremony, there will be a drinks reception, speeches, entertainment and a three-course meal.
The closing date for entries to the awards is 5pm on Friday 20 June.
Entries will be assessed by a panel of experts drawn from across the children, young people and families sector before the shortlist is announced in August. Shortlisted entries are then reviewed by a panel of young judges whose scores will be added to those of the practitioner judges to decide the overall winners.
CYP Now editor, Derren Hayes said: “The CYP Now Awards provide a much-needed opportunity for practitioners, teams and organisations across the children and families sector to shout about the great work that often goes on under the radar. There is a category for every aspect of work with children and young people so don’t delay, get your application in quickly.”
