Birmingham City Council has commissioned Core Assets Group’s fostering service to find foster families for more than 60 children currently in care homes in the hope it will improve long-term outcomes for them.
The first placement has already been made under the four-year contract, which will see carers being provided through the group’s Foster Care Associates, Fostering People and Active Care Solutions operations.
Under the contract, Birmingham Council will pay a weekly placement fee with a final payment made upon completion of a placement.
Core Assets Group says the placement is the first to be funded using a SIB, a payment-by-results scheme set up by government to promote social investment in the public sector with the aim of delivering positive outcomes for looked-after children.
